Housingcare.org is a site for older people, their families, carers and advisors, and all those who work with and for them. It will help you explore options and make decisions about meeting your housing, support and care needs in later life. It contains detailed information on how to maintain, adapt or improve your home or release equity from it (equity release), find care or home help services, find and move to retirement housing or choose a care home where you will feel at home. Our directory of retirement housing is the most comprehensive available; use it to locate housing for older people anywhere in the UK. It specialises in all forms of 'housing with care' including sheltered housing, extra care housing, assisted living and retirement villages. Our care homes directory includes all UK homes that provide care for older people (nursing homes, residential care). The site also contains an extensive directory of home improvement agencies, as well a library of over 1,000 selected information sheets and guides. The site is run by the charity Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC), and backed up by a telephone advice line (020 7820 1343).
