The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham has been meeting the needs of individuals with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities since 1962. Our GOAL is simple: To assist you in finding the best services within our community for your special needs individual .
Our Mission
The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham is part of the nation's largest volunteer organization devoted solely to the welfare of persons with developmental disabilities. Members include parents, professionals, persons with developmental disabilities, and concerned citizens. The staff and volunteers work to minimize the effects of developmental disabilities. Developmental disabilities should not be confused with mental illness.
We believe every person with a developmental disability has the right to live, learn and work in the most normal and least restrictive environment possible.
