Description

As Humanists we try to be the best human beings we can be. We assert the inherent dignity and worth of men and women. We reject supernaturalism and place our trust in self-realization through reason. We look to nature and evolution (rather than supernatural beings) for answers. We try to make the world a better place and take responsiblity for it and and the future of the human race. We stand by civilization's highest values: compassion, human rights, liberty, an open society, knowledge through scientific inquiry, and a love of the arts.

Humanists of Houston share: our ideas, ideals, dreams, gripes, and humor. We try to help each other get through the wonderful adventure of life -- and we help each other out when things are not going so well...
