A gratuity, better known as a tip, is appreciated by our staff but is not required. In most service industries though, like hunting, fishing, restaurants and the like, they are common, and our staff works very hard to make your trip as pleasant as possible, in part, to encourage you to tip well. However, We feel like it should be your choice as to whether to tip or not, and how much to tip if you do. We have made this policy clear to our staff. What we offer here is a guideline on gratuities for your consideration, but remember, it is just a guideline.

Most tips in this industry run about 10-15% of the total cost of the hunt. The lower percentage usually applies on high dollar hunts (say, over $5000) They also run a little lower if the staff doesn't do much for the overall hunting experience. The high end percentage is normally applied to low dollar hunts (say, under $1000). Tips also tend to be a little higher percent if the staff bends over backward to make it a great trip for you. No tip at all would be very appropriate if you feel cheated or mistreated, but that better never happen on one of our hunts or some staff members are in deep trouble. That 10-15% normal tip is usually split up between all the staff as you see fit. The guide tends to get the biggest cut since he is responsible for the fewest number of hunters and probably the most responsible for the success of the hunt. The cook tends to get the next biggest cut, since great cooking can really enhance the overall experience. The hostesses and maids, if used on that hunt, tend to get the least per hunter, but since they usually deal with all the hunters present, they wind up with as much total tip per hunt as any other staff member. Gratuities may be made all at once to the huntmaster and they pass them out according to your instruction, but they mean more to the staff if handed out by you on a personal basis.
