As the editor of IriePeople, I’ll share with you my love for Jamaica. I was born in Port Maria, in the parish of St Mary, approximately 10 miles from one of Jamaica’s bustling tourist attraction, Dunn’s River Falls in Ochie Rios.
In 1969, I migrated to the United States to join my mother. Even though, I was far away from Jamaica, my heart never left the island. I often think of the many ways that Jamaica’s culture differ from that of the United States.
