International League Against Epilepsy

ILAE has national chapters in 96 countries with over 15,000 members. Each national chapter has elected officers and members who are doctors and other health care professionals interested in epilepsy.
ILAE publishes an official journal, Epilepsia, which is the leading, most authoritative source for current clinical and research results on all aspects of epilepsy.
ILAE has formal links with the World Health Organization (for the Global Campaign Against Epilepsy) and with the International Bureau for Epilepsy (the worlds leading lay persons epilepsy association), the World Health Organisation and the International Bureau For Epilepsy. ILAE also conducts, in conjunction with WHO, a global campaign entitled “Out of the Shadows” the aim of which is to increase public and professional awareness of epilepsy, as a universal treatable brain disorder.
