Description

INGO (Textiles) LTD was registered in the UK in September 1966 by Mr Riaz Mirza - an Indian citizen at the time living in the UK - and Mr Douana Hammond of Accra, Ghana (former trade commissioner). Initially the company was exporting Dutch Wax Prints from Holland to West Africa. As the company grew it added more commodities in its export programme and to show the true reflection of the company's activities, the board of directors decided to change the name of the company to INGO (Export Agencies) LTD.

Later again, to reflect the diversified activities of the company, INGO (Export Agencies) LTD., was re-named INGO INTERNATIONAL LTD in August 1987.

The major break for the company came in the early seventies when the company successfully contracted the sale of 1 million audio cassettes to Robert Hardman Ltd - a subsidiary of Associated Dairies (ASDA).
