- On May 23, 2001, a group of nine people met for lunch at Little Professor Book Store in Homewood, Alabama. Several of those present had been talking with other web professionals and web enthusiasts about the need to regularly meet and share ideas, learn from each other, and promote our profession. We decided to investigate forming a chapter of an existing organization or forming our own group.
