Scott J. Fields. CEO. Scott is a partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP, head of the firm's Intellectual Property Group and a member of the firm¹s Business and Finance Department. He has developed a recognized expertise in Internet related intellectual property and related matters while representing major Internet related clients, including major regional ISPs, in a wide variety of applications including online calendaring, banking, product testing and reverse auctions. He prepared and prosecuted Internet and business method patents and prepared a substantial number of Agreements in all areas of Internet and electronic commerce as well as handled domain and related trademark/servicemark disputes.
Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, from Pennsylvania State University, in Economics; and a Bachelor of Science degree from Temple University in Electrical Engineering. He received his Juris Doctor from The National Law Center of The George Washington University; Moot Court, Phi Alpha Delta. He is a frequent lecturer on Internet, IP and business issues.
Andy Gibbs. COO. Andy is the founder and president of PatentCafe.com. Andy was recently appointed by Acting Secretary of Commerce Robert L. Mallett to sit on the US Patent & Trademark Office's Public Patent Advisory Committee (reports annually to the President, and Committees on the Judiciary of the Senate and House of Representatives). Andy is an independent inventor (5 patents issued in medical, automotive, electronics and sporting goods, numerous others pending), and has founded a number of manufacturing companies based on his intellectual property. Prior to starting PatentCafe, he founded SportRack Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of automotive OEM products, later acquired by $1.9b Mascotech, Inc. (NYSE; MSX), where he served as Divisional Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.He serves on the advisory board of a San Jose wireless technology venture firm, has served as a board member for Silicon Valley software and high technology companies, and as an advisor to companies in the Silicon Valley Enterprise Network, a NASA/AMES sponsored incubator.
