Star tests alone are not reliable, as they are dependent on viewing conditions and the subjective judgment and skill level of the tester. Optical bench tests are conducted by ITE in a scientific manner under controlled laboratory conditions using calibrated instruments. Optical bench tests are the only reliable means of verifying optical quality in an objective, scientific manner.
