IDC predicts that residential US VoIP subscribers will grow from 10.3 mln in 2006 to 44 mln in 2010. The latest IDC forecast shows that VoIP will be used in 62% of broadband households in 2010. By 2009 over 10% of all servers will become enterprise platforms for virtual machines meaning decreased expenditure on new IT hardware and increased consolidation and virtualization of computing resources, IDC predicts.
