Description
Initiates a targeted search of the database, using alphabetic search options typically available in public access catalogs (i.e., title, author, subject, and notes). The result set from a Search includes only those items that satisfy the search criteria.
Initiates a search that positions the user at a certain point in the database. From this point, he or she can browse up or down through the database from top to bottom. The result set from a Browse is the entire database, presented in manageable sized chunks of say, 10, 20, or 50 items at a time (user controlled).
Initiates a search that allows the user to perform up to three individual searches using any combination of author, title, subject, and note fields. The results are combined according to the relationships the user defines among the search terms.
