Well, to begin with, I search for quite a while to see if I could find any information on this topic. Unfortunately, what I did find was pretty dated. So, I figured I'd fiddle around with things until I got something to work. Finally, I got something functional. Here's a quick explanation of how I got an Apple MacOS X 10.4 Xgrid to work with Blender 2.41.

I suppose you'll first need to setup your Xgrid. I am running MacOS X 10.4 server on one of my machines, so I do have a real Xgrid controller. It seems there are several pages out there that discuss setting up a controller on the normal version of MacOS X, but I haven't tested how that works with this solution. Anyhow, here's a link to get you started with Xgrid: Distributed Tiger: Xgrid Comes of Age. There's also quite a bit of information available via the Mac help system.

I've started to actually write some code, but I will probably wait until I have a functional version before I commit anything again. Once I have a functional version, I'll post a dmg.
