- The Japanese Network is a group of about 140 mainly freelance Japanese/English translators and interpreters, most of whom live in the UK. Many of us work in different fields such as tourism, culture, engineering and medicine. Our members work independently and the Network's ethos is predominantly one of cooperation rather than competition. We are part of the UK's Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and we have three membership categories: Friends of J-Net (members of the Network who are not Associate Members or Members of ITI but who have a interest in Japanese language), Associates (who are Associate Members of ITI) and Members (who are qualified Members or Fellows of ITI). We welcome anyone who has a professional interest in Japanese language whether they are a member of ITI or not.
