Jack Bludis has been writing since the age of twelve. Since 1977, he has sold almost forty novels and novellas in the major genres--mystery, western, adventure, glitz, romance and even mainstream. He has also sold over 300 short stories. He started his study of the short story and the novel at the University of Maryland, but he has learned his craft over a long period and he is still learning.
Jack believes there are geniuses in the world, but he is not one of them. He is a craftsman who works hard at his craft
His favorite writers are Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, William Faulkner, Dasheill Hammett, Raymond Chander, Phillip Roth and Stephen King. He thinks the great books of the Twentieth Century include The Sun Also Rises, The Great Gatsby, Goodbye Columbus, and The Green Mile. Another great book is The Naked and the Dead, although he does not consider its author in a class with the others mentioned.
