Description

JAG Engines originated in 1991 as JAG Ltd of Victorville, California, the enterprise pursued the conversion and use of low cost industrial small engines in Giant Scale Radio Control miniature aircraft. While there are increasing numbers of candidates available and being introduced on the market, the Ryobi 31cc string trimmer engine proved to be the best choice for power, durability and low cost as well as simplicity for home conversion. Jag Ltd has produced thousands of conversion kits and hundreds of converted engines that are in use flying large scale models worldwide.

The company, now owned by Dale Cochlin of Hesperia, California and doing business as "JAG Engines", is dedicated to continued application of low cost industrial engines in the Radio Control industry. Dale, an engine and propeller technician for General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., the worlds most successfull UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) company, says "Our purpose is to provide the parts, tools and accessories needed to introduce Radio Controlled modelers to larger Gas Engines." "Hoping that this might be their first step toward the understanding and use of truly Giant Scale models and even larger gas engines."

Although the Ryobi engines are small enough to be a first step toward Giant Scale modeling, they are certainly powerful enough and durable enough to provide many years of enjoyable Radio Control flying. These American made engines use the latest technology as well as proven design techniques to provide the Modeler with a dependable, long lasting engine that can be converted from a Weed Whacker to an Airplane engine in a matter of minutes.
