9.24.05 - A Rita Minus the Tequila

We feared the very worst. We wanted to leave just like the 2+ Million people who made it out. There was NO WAY we could afford to spend 17+ hours on I-10 or I-45 to get out of town with a walking baby and 2 cry-baby dogs. We hunkered down as we were told and as we watched Rita turn further East we felt a lot of relief. It sprinkled here on us some and we got some intense winds but we survived and are virtually unscathed. We are fortunate. Here are some pictures of things yesterday and the effects of the wind today. We did lose some shingles but most of the damage was to our neighbors house.
