At JGMD we believe in little luxuries in everyday life and as much as possible using and learning from a bygone era.
When we started filling our vintage teacups with earl grey tea scented candle wax, we became fascinated by the charm of old china and porcelain, and the hand decoration and individuality missing from so many contemporary products for the home. from there it was just a natural step to making lavender sachets and soap bags from old table cloths and hand stitched tray cloths, aprons using pieces of vintage trim and embroidery, accompanied by our own verse (Pam Ayres would recognise the style, let's just say it won't win any poetry prizes!) Not to mention adding our own favourite recipes to pressed glass jugs and dishes to encourage those witha hankering to make ginger beer, mojitos or grown up fruit jellies. A gift with an individual twist, I like to think.
Many of the items on our site are limited by the very fact that we search high and low for just one or two items and get very excited when we find them. But don't let that stop you from checking out the site, the stock is always changing and hopefully you will spot some exciting finds to enliven your home.
