Description
Jean Feilmoser, a native San Franciscan, started life lucky...she was BORN in the Mission District. The diversity of the neighborhood inspired wanderlust and global adventures. After graduation from San Francisco State University with a Broadcast Communication Arts degree, she bought a one-way ticket to Europe and has since lived in Australia, Brazil, Guatemala, Mexico, Austria, Slovakia, Macedonia, Turkey and Armenia. According to the list provided by the Travelers' Century Club, she has managed to visit 119 countries and all seven continents - so far.
Jean, a graduate of the International Tour Management Institute, is a local and domestic tour guide/international tour manager/incentive trip director. She has created several unique local educational tours over the years for the San Francisco Tour Guide Guild, and has turned one of them into J WALKS. Another ongoing tour company she promotes is SAN FRANCISCO ON TRACK, chartering San Francisco's charming historic streetcars for tours, etc.
Jean has worked as a print media sales manager for national news magazines and at advertising agencies. She is a past president and PR chair for the SFTGG and a founding member of the National Federation of Tourist Guide Associations. Her latest passion is Election Monitoring where she represents the U.S. Department of State volunteering her services in election implementation in new democracies in such post war Eastern European destinations as Russia, Bosnia, Slovakia, Kosovo, Macedonia and East Timor for the UN. (No jokes about Florida, please.)
