Meet Kareem the Monkey-Boxer
Born Kareem Akil Panton, he attended Vaz Pre-School and Vaz Preparatory School where upon graduation from grade six was awarded the Principal's Prize of High Achievement. This award is presented to the student who the selection committee feels best represents the core values of the school in terms of discipline, academic achievement, social graces and adaptability. Kareem won a free place in the GSAT (Grade Six Achievement Test) to attend Campion College where he is currently among the top students in his class. He is an avid martial arts practitioner and has been practicing since the age of four (4) years at which time he started to do karate. He sat and passed his black belt promotional grading examinations was awarded a black belt in Karate just a few days prior to his tenth birthday in the year 2003. Since the beginning of Grade six he began to practice Northern Shaolin Kung Fu at the Wing Lung Kung Fu & Tai Chi Association located at the Chinese Benevolent Association. He represented Jamaica and Wing Lung Kung Fu & Tai Chi Association at the Sixth Annual Kung Fu Championships held at the Gaylord Palms Hotel & Spa in Orlando Florida in 2004 just mere months after starting to practice Kung Fu. He entered three (3) events at that tournament (i.e. Emptyhand and Short Weapon forms as well as Point Sparring) and won all three. He won the Emptyhand form competition with a Shaolin Black Tiger Form and the Short Weapons competition with a Tiger Broadsword Weapon Form. He was awarded his black sash in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu just prior to his twelveth birthday and is eligible for promotional grading again in the Summer of 2007 where he will sit his first degree black sash examinations. Kareem now specializes in Hou Quan (Monkey Boxing) and his special forms are the Lost Monkey Emptyhand and Staff forms. Kareem decided to stop training at his kwoon and is still trying to decide whether to stop training all together or whether to specialize in genuine Tai Shing Pek Kwar kung fu as he is a member of the Tai Shing Pek Kwar International Kung Fu Federation headed by the Monkey King Grandmaster Chan Sau Chung and Master Chan Kai Leung.
In his spare time Kareem loves to listen to music and watch movies from Limewire. He has a special liking for martial arts movies especially those that feature monkey boxing e.g. Iron Monkey - Chen Kwan Tai (1977), Monkey Fist Floating Snake, Snake in Monkey's Shadow etc. He is also a member of the Tai Shing Pek Kwar International Kung Fu Federation headed by Grandmaster Chan Sau Chung (the world's only monkeyking). Kareem's first kung fu instructor was Sifu Troy Gonsalves. Sifu Troy's instructor is Master Steve Chin who is the head of Wing Lung Organisation. His idol at Wing Lung is Si-Hing Joshua Jureidini (the original monkey specialist). Kareem lives with his mommy Novelette and daddy Debon in Jamaica and intends to become a pediatrician in the future.

Nice site, well put together with a very nice layout. Kareem seems to really love his kung fu. I would have liked to see some videos of him doing his monkey forms though.
