- Kateri Residence is a Joint Commission accredited not-for-profit 520-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center located on Riverside Drive at 87th Street in Manhattan. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York assumed responsibility for operating the Home in 1981 and named it in memory of Kateri Tekakwitha, a caring 17th century American Indian who converted to Christianity. In 1980, 300 years after her death, Blessed Kateri was beatified by Pope John Paul II.
