From humble beginnings of making deliveries by bicycle, patting butter, and boning and rolling bacon, Ken Warne Licensed Grocers have grown into one of the leading independent food retailers in the North of England. Trading begun on the 4th August 1948 and in its first week the shop's takings amounted to £49 6s1d. The money was immediately ploughed back into the company and the business has been growing and developing ever since.
The Hamper division was established in the early 90's and has gone from strength to strength. As a member of Nisa (National Independent Supermarket Association) the company's buying power allows it to retail Hampers at extremely competitive prices.
