Gift from the sea, pearl is one of the most beautiful gemstones discovered. Before the cultured pearls came along, pearls were so rare and expensive, only the rich and noble could afford them. Pearls played an important role in ancient literature. Looking back the history, it is believed that pearls were once the most valuable of all gems (until the discovery of diamond). In certain cultures, pearls were once considered gift from God. Cleopatra, the famous queen of Egypt in history, once crushed large pearl, dissolved in liquid (wine or vinegar) and drank it down.
At Kristen Eternity, we have great passion for pearls and specialize in pearls. We do not believe anyone should pay outrageous high prices at retail stores. Nor do we believe anyone should overpay, again at retails, for just a "brand." Our mission is to offer finest pearls, making them affordable to everyone. We want to build a name that stands for quality, trust, and service.
Typical retail stores marked up 200% ~ 500% from original costs in order to maintain their heavy operating expenses, such as expensive store space rent and payroll. The larger the store, the more expenses it will get. Eventually all these burdens will be reflected on the "price tag" and pass on to the customers. Also merchandises have perhaps gone through layers of distribution channels or middlemen before reaching retail stores, meaning that retail customers end up having to pay for every layer of middleman.
