- Why did we choose Kona on the Island of Hawaii? The simple answer is, we just love it there. We have some great memories of the Island of Hawaii. It is probably the most relaxing place we have ever been. The food is amazing especially if you like fresh Hawaiian fish. The island is very diverse, the people are incredibly friendly and there are lots of fun things to do. There are not as many people on Hawaii as there are on some of the other islands like Oahu (Waikiki beach, Diamondhead, etc.) or on Maui, but it is larger than all of the other Hawaiian Islands combined. You don’t come here for the nightlife, you come here to relax, eat great food and enjoy the sun.
