Victoria is known for her high-energy presentations, as well as her expertise in Emergent Literacy, Language Acquisition, Differentiated Instruction, Multi-Age Education, and Integrated Thematic Curriculum. In her workshops and professional development seminars, she shares innovative techniques, teaching strategies, and materials that accelerate student learning and facilitate classroom management. Using her classroom as a research lab to discover what really works with young learners, Victoria began developing curriculum and instructional materials aligned with stringent state and national academic standards. Through her participation in the California Science Project, she further refined her teaching methods and materials to integrate multiple forms of instructional technology, and to meet the additional needs of second language learners in all subject areas, using Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English. Victoria is the author of more than two dozen teacher resource books, hundreds of original songs and poems for young children, and nearly one hundred reproducible books for emergent readers that are used in English-speaking and Spanish-speaking classrooms around the world.
