L-com Connectivity Products was founded in 1982 by Mr. Al Contarino. They are a direct manufacturer of connectivity equipment such as cable assemblies, connectors, adapters, kits, bulk cable, and active equipment like routers, switches, testers, and converters. They deal primarily in products for D-Subminiature (serial and parallel communications), Modular and Telecommunications (phone and Internet connectivity), SCSI, USB, IEEE-488 GPIB, IEEE-1394 Firewire, VGA, S-video, DVI, HDMI, and fiber optic applications. They are also a distributor of Linksys, Cisco, Metrobility, and Unicom active equipment, along with numerous other brand-name manufacturers.
Priding itself on same-day shipment and outstanding customer service, L-com manufactures and stocks products in their own buildings in North Andover, Massachusetts, to offer quick turnaround and excellent custom manufacturing services. They are also known for their very useful catalog and web site, both of which are packed with free tips, diagrams, tutorials, and other general information about the connectivity industry. Their catalogs have been used by professors teaching students and engineers explaining to coworkers and buyers what they need.
