Lackham Farm - Home page

The Lackham Estate covers 234.20 hectares. This comprises of 15 hectares of Woodland; 24.66 hectares of Buildings and other land; leaving the College Farm 194.54 hectares of productive land. The College is renting 410 hectares from two local landlords, which expands the practical base for the students to both learn practically and give us physical records from a longer arable and livestock base.
Dairy units are sited at Home Farm (140 cows) and Great Lodge Farm (220 cows). Calf rearing is based at Home Farm. Beef rearing is at Ashill along with young stock. Limousins are based at Home Farm. Limousin X sucklers cows are calves are reared at Blue Barn and the sheep based at Notton.
Home Farm is also the site for the Farm Information Centre, where students and visitors can obtain information about the farm. The other farm owned by the College is Notton Farm; this consists of the Sheep Unit and storage facilities for fertilizer and straw.
