Title

Larissa Meek Art and Web Design in Florida

Description

“As a child, I often struggled with asthma and I realized my love for the arts began while watching cartoons such as "Smurfs", "Voltron", and "Duck Tails". Asthma often prevented me from physical activity so I found my self drawing cartoons, and making art to pass the time. Having asthma is like breathing through a straw, you can’t get enough oxygen in or enough out. At times, it can be frightening.

In early college Life, I turned to pageantry as a challenge to myself and to help pay for my education. Pageantry invites women into a complex gallery of situations, and away from their daily routines. Pageantry strengthens young women through communication, discipline, and self-discovery. In 1997 I competed at Miss Teen USA as Miss Missouri Teen USA. In 2001 I represented Missouri at MISS USA, placing 4th runner up.

After competing in Miss USA I was laid off from an advertising company as the only 3D animator, due to the failing economy and cut backs. I then decided to move to Los Angeles. I was determined to create a web site to promote my art after being laid off and am a self taught web designer. I believe after learning to use 3D animation software, ANYTHING else is a breeze. Flash was my first tool of choice, because it works on a timeline just as 3D animation software does. I soon became competent in HTML and database driven sites.
