Description

In 1987, LaserImages began providing contract-typesetting services for Kinko's Copy Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Using a laser printer driven by a Mac computer to create images, the company name was devised, and owner, Frank Gaither, began "putting power in your paper." The LaserImages logo, "Computer-power man" was born shortly thereafter.

By 1989, LaserImages was incorporated and expanded its services from typesetting to include graphic design, computer rental and printing services. These services were provided at all three Central Arkansas Kinko's locations. In 1992, new imagesetter and processor equipment was added at the Kinko's South University operations to provide film negatives and positives to the local printers.

Early in 1993, the company's growth required more operating space, and the present office location on West 12th Street was leased. This provided LaserImages with the room it needed to grow its staff and services. In December of 1994, Kinko's closed its University location and LaserImages moved its entire operation to the West 12th Street offices. Since that time, they have acquired adjoining office space and now have three times the square footage of the original leased space.
