Description
I started flying in 1981 after years as an alpine skier. When I discovered it was possible to jump a cliff and go up, I was no longer happy with down.
I learned to hang glide in the San Francisco Bay area, and in the Reno / Tahoe area, on sites such as Dillon Beach, Fort Cronkite, Zulu Ridge and others. Looking back on those days, I realize now how desperate I was to get some air under my feet, and how crazy were those efforts. I had to fly NOW!
Since then I have flown on a near-daily basis in many places... the USA, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Morocco and Tunisia. I love to travel and to fly when I get there, which affords the visitor a view of a country that few of us ever experience, and puts the traveler in touch with other flyers. I've met many colorful and dedicated glideheads along the way.
