- The colors of Lemurian Jade range from black and gold, to gray and gold with some dark greenish hues. The gold color comes from the pyrite and calcopyrite that is mixed with the jade. Sometimes there are light spots of quartz or dolomite. As the cut pieces age the calcopyrite will add some red/blue/purple colors, and the pyrite that is more silverish when first polished goes to gold color. Rarely, will the stone be just one color without inclusions of gold color or much grain.
