Since you may or may not have heard about us before, let me tell you a little of our history. Lock, Stock & Barrel was initially opened in Valentine, Nebraska in 1975, mainly as a gun shop. It then expanded into a mail order business in 1975 with the company expanding into a larger building located just west of Valentine, NE on Hwy 20 in 1983.
Meanwhile in Winner, South Dakota, another mail order company called Prairie Shooting Supply was being established. It was then purchased by Jack Joseph, a Valentine resident in 1985 and moved to Valentine. For a few years the two mail order businesses operated within “a stone’s throw” of each other. Eventually, the two companies merged with Jack Joseph as being the sole owner.
Lock, Stock & Barrel has grown in customers and service. Gun and hunting enthusiast Harvey Whitney took over Lock, Stock & Barrel as manager and part owner in 1997, eventually becoming sole owner in 2005. Since 1997, we have been striving to provide the best possible service to our customers. We continue to have experienced staff in all portions of the reloading field. We have also been working hard to provide you with the top of the line products for all your reloading and accessory needs. Our website has also been updated to provide you with more selections and accurate information as well as providing easier access 24 hours a day.
