The first single will be released to radio on March. Most of the songs were written years ago while the artist was still developing his career. Dos Etapas (Ufl Records- Verdad y Justicia label group) contiene 10 canciones totalmente originales con letra y música de Lopez y en tres temas la ayuda del compositor y percusionista Leo Muñoz. El primer sencillo será escuchado en la radio a partir del mes de marzo. Lopez comenzó a escribir varios de los temas cuando apenas estaba desarrollando su carrera como artista. Es muy difícil para mi escribir canciones, estaba muy preocupado, creía que no me iba a salir nada de la cabeza, dice el cantante y compositor colombiano. El resultado parece contradecir lo que el artista piensa. El equipo de producción estuvo a la cabeza de Lopez. Leo Muñoz fue el co-productor del disco y Uly Milan mezcló y masterizó este material. Lopez nos ha sorprendido con este tipo de trabajo, dice el veterano Ric Fazecas, Vice Presidente del grupo disquero Verdad y Justicia. Este artista sabe lo que quiere y lo hace con pasión. Es un honor trabajar con un artista como Lopez. Varios de los músicos de sus proyectos anteriores participarón en esta grabación, entre ellos Omar Florez y Bryan Barranchina (Evasur) quienes hicieron los arreglos de coros y vocales. Pedro Alemany compañero de su vieja banda Santa Juana, grabó varias de las guitarras y bajos , Leo Muñoz grabó las percusiones y también cuatro nuevos músicos, el baterista Bob Ramos y Martin Quintero(Momposonica), el acordionista Pedro Rogers y su hermano Orlando Rogers.Lopez toca las guitarras y los pianos en todas las canciones. . Lopez escribe sus canciones con la ayuda de su piano. Las melodías frecuentemente salen primero y el elaborado proceso de las letras pasa por diferentes fases antes de mostrarlo a alguien. Dos Etapas tiene altas dosis de rock pop con la original fusión de ritmos latinoamericanos, en especial colombianos. Hay dos poderosas baladas, varios temas de tiempo rápido y 10 grandes sorpresas en ritmo, melodía, poesía y estructura musical. Original y sencilla la temática abordada de este disco son relaciones personales, el amor cotidiano, lo urbano con interés en el aspecto social. Vida, muerte, familia, sobrevivencia, esperanza y soledad son elementos recurrentes en el lenguaje de este compositor. El trabajo de composición fue finalizado entre las cuatro paredes del pequeño estudio del sótano de la casa de Leo Muñoz. Dobles jornadas diarias durante los ultimos nueve meses sirvieron para perfeccionar las canciones en el riguroso y solitario proceso de preproducción que Lopez realiza antes de enseñar su trabajo. Dos Etapas es el reflejo de mi vida, mi amor, mi familia, mi música, mi pueblo, mi pasión, mis recuerdos, mis anhelos, mis dudas, es lo que sufro y quiero. En Abril del 2006 Lopez comenzará su nueva gira de conciertos y en los próximos tres meses Lopez realizará un intenso plan de promoción de Dos Etapas por Estados Unidos. I worried thinking that nothing was going to come out of my head” comments the Colombian producer, pianist, singer and composer Lopez. The results seem to contradict what the artist thinks. Lopez worked with different musicians in the New York/New Jersey area . Lopez is the producer, Leo Muñoz is co-producer . “Lopez has surprised us with this type of work and creativity . “Dos Etapas” is excellent states experienced Ric Fazecas, Vice President of Verdad y Justicia. “This artist knows what he wants, and does what he knows . Several of the musicians from his previous projects participated in this recording, Among them Omar Florez and Bryan Barranchina who arranged most of the vocals and back up vocals, Pedro Alemany, a friend from his old band Santajuana, recorded some of the bass and guitars, and also four new musicians: drummer Bob Ramos and Martin quintero, acordionist Pedro Rogers and his brother Orlando Rogers.Percussion was arranged and played by Leo Muñoz. As he always does Lopez plays the electric and acoustic guitars on all the songs as well as keyboards and pianos. Lopez writes his songs with the help of his piano. The melodies usually come first and the elaborate process of writing the lyrics goes through several phases before he shows the song to anyone.“Dos Etapas” has high doses of pop rock with the original fusion of Latin American rhythms, especially from Colombia. It includes two powerful ballads, several up-tempo tracks – ten amazing songs that surprise with their rhythm, beautiful melody, poetry and musical form. Original and simple, the themes deal with personal relationships, love, and the urban aspects of society. Life, death, family, survival, hope and solitude are the basic elements recurrent throughout this composer’s innovative language. Lopez and Leo put the final touches on these compositions within the four walls of their small basement studio in leo's home. Long daily sessions for the last nine months served to perfect the songs during a rigorous and often-times lonely pre-production process that Lopez goes through before letting anyone listen. “Dos Etapas” is what I live, what I love, my love, my family, my music, my passion, my guitar, my memories, my doubts, it is what I suffer and want. Lopez will start his new concert tour in March 2006 and during the next three months will focus on the intense promotion of “Dos Etapas” in the United States.
