Founded in 1987, Logplan has become one of the worlds most experienced international consulting firms in its domains of expertise and has provided services for projects ranging from conducting feasibility studies, planning, analysis and simulation development to design and construction management for many of the worlds largest airports. In addition, Logplan has planned and managed the implementation of the world’s most sophisticated automated baggage handling systems using DCV technology, supported airports to achieve 100% baggage screening using explosive detection systems (EDS), and provided experience to plan and develop some of the most innovative people mover systems for airport applications.
Since its founding, Logplan’s engineers and designers, have been exploring the future of airport technology to offer clients state-of-the-art systems and solutions. Due to its independent status, Logplan is able to draw from a wide base of experience and technical knowledge to provide our clients with global solutions to fit their needs. Because of its first hand knowledge and overview of airport systems, ability to provide a solid continuation throughout the duration of a project, knowledge in dealing with both government and civil agencies on an international level and a proven track record for on time as well as on budget performance, makes Logplan uniquely qualified to be a significant contributor to any project team.
In 1987 Professor Helmut Baumgarten (PhD.-Ing.), Director for Material Flow Technology and Logistics at the Technical University of Berlin, founded Logplan for the purpose of helping the aviation industry deal with the increasing complexity of airport logistic systems. Logplan soon became a leader in the German airport consulting industry by providing an unprecedented understanding of new systems technologies to its customers. In 1993, Matthias Frenz (PhD. Engineering) was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer and Logplan’s current Sr. Vice President Jörg Nahke was hired.
