Description
Named after the undisputedly most brilliant scholar of the Nyingmapa tradition. Longchen Rabjampa (1308-1363), a prolific writer who systematized the philosophical structures and technical terminology of the Mahayoga, Anuyoga, and Atiyoga systems (the three highest yoga systems) in relation to the Sutra (the original teachings of the Shakyamuni Buddha) and the Shastra (commentaries on the transmissions of the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha) systems of ancient India. Longchenpa wrote many highly respected compositions and was a noted Terma (Hidden Treasure) revealer.
Longchenpa Institute was incorporated in 1999 and received the tax exempt status as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We are under the direction of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche and Venerable Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche; sincerely dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Nyingmapa Palyul tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
The institute is committed to establish a strong teaching program; we welcome your participation and presence as the curriculum for the Advancement of Buddhist Studies unfolds though teachings and ceremonies presented by visiting Lamas and scholars and eventually through our own in house Dharma study program.
