Lotus Meditation Center is a Zen meditation group located in Seward, Nebraska, and exists to support all those who wish to meditate. The Lotus Meditation Center in the Shin tradition brings Soto Zen practice to a rural area in America's heartland. Originally Shin Buddhism was a simple movement, in which people met even at home without a professional clergy system. It is egalitarian, democratic, without temples, budgets and fancy programs.
We come together to sit, experience and explore the wisdom of Zen in our everyday lives. We invite everyone to join us in this practice at our meditation gatherings. Lotus Meditation Center provides a supportive environment in which centuries-old teachings and traditions complement the creative and caring spirit of contemporary America. Everyone is welcomed at our community as is their support of meditation and mindfulness. There are no membership requirements to participate in its activities.
