Lotus Oils was created in 1995, while in the retail business with the well-known shop, “Jewel in the Lotus”, in Auckland New Zealand. At that time we realised there was a need in the market for quality 100% pure essential oils at “down to earth prices”. We came to realise the great powers of Aromatherapy through using the oils ourselves for many years and by experiencing massive shifts in our own health and consciousness during and after many intensive massage sessions with qualified Aromatherapists. As our belief in the curative powers of these “wonder oils” soared, so did the rate at which we sold them through our own business.
Many, many people asked us why oils had to be so expensive and we always gave the standard line “that you must pay these prices to ensure an authentic, 100% pure oil". There are many synthetic and adultered oils around which can be identified by their cheap prices, so you do have to be careful, although price is not the only guideline to identify an adulterated oil. We did some initial research, which dispelled a lot of myths and the ultimate result was we began marketing our own brand of pure essential oils.
Also, the LOTUS “business vision” is to provide the best quality oils and natural products at the best possible prices. To help us to meet this vision, we are a whole NZ family company, with minimal overheads to keep us going. We market two grades of 100% pure oil dependant on the type of customer and use intended, i.e. aromatherapist, home user, commercial use etc, as thus:
