Memoir
Hello. I’m Esther and I’m 19. I was born at 12am on March 7th, 1986 in a small town on the East Coast of Malaysia. My parents spent a lot of time moving back and forth the capita throughout my childhood. I’ve changed 8 different schools since kindergarten. After my parents’ divorce, I went back living in my hometown with my dad and siblings. Later, one by one, all of us moved back to the city. Currently, I’m residing in Kuala Lumpur. My childhood was an unhappy one but the old wounds had slowly healed with time. I’m the eldest among 4 children.
I’m extremely tall for an Asian. (5′11″) I have dark eyes and hair. My hair has never been permed, it was colored once when I was 12, but salt water and sun has given it natural highlights. It is annoyingly wavey, I call it the permanent after-sex look. I have broad shoulders and a very athletic build, unfortunately, I’m flabby in most areas. My body rejects most piercings and I’m tattooed on my back. I often get asked if I was a product of mixed blood, which I’m not. The best question was, “Are you sure?”
I love designing and making my own clothes. Do it yourself’s are very, very fun. (Hey mom, the reason I did badly in my finals for Biology when I was 17 was because I was threading my denim skirt all night long before my exam, just thought you’d like to know.) However, this doesn’t stop me from shopping. Retail is the best therapy ever. I enjoy art, I’ve never stopped wishing I was born with talent. I listen to all sorts of music and I hate music nazis.
