The LSMS opposes the bill as written. Although LSMS Policy is compatible with some of the concepts in the bill, the majority of its provisions are radically different from LSMS Policy on health system reform. In addition, the subject of tort reform is completely missing from the bill as well as the right of patients and physicians to privately contract. Finally, the most radical of the bill's provisions, the public plan option, is clearly against LSMS Policy 165.
