Lucky Rabbit Pottery, Pottery Gallery, Pottery Shop, Garden Pottery, Pottery Process, Pottery Commissions
Description edit
They are both graduates of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and have long exhibition records. Together, they collaborate to produce life-like images of flora and fauna, drawing their inspiration from their garden and the sea. Artist Kim Cartwright adds an essential element of naturalism with her delicate drawing style, and extensive knowledge of local flora and fauna.
Each work of art is made from porcelain clay, and is created on the potter's wheel or in hand-made press molds. Birds, creatures, and other hand-sculpted details are added to the wet pots. Once dry, the clay work is fired three times; this results in the subtle nuances of color, gold and luster which give each item its special character.
Lucky Rabbit pottery has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and is represented in numerous art galleries and private collections throughout the world.
