- If you were to type, say, 'Shopping' in your search box, how many dozen pages would result? How would you know which site, amongst those results, is the one you're looking for; how long it's been around; how reliable are its services.. etc etc? Search engines throw up a whole bunch of results based on set parameters.. the results are often unfocused and even outdated. Then one has to choose from those results and spend more time checking each one out. We've eliminated the 'search' from your search. WE'VE done the (re)search (literally hundreds of hours of it). That's why we call ourselves an 'Un-search engine'. We believed that there was a need for a site like ours.. which is more than just a search engine or a "portal", and which would provide a really useful service to serious internet users (as well as newbies). What we offer is categorised, direct results in the popularly categories/keywords, (and lots of less popularly-searched ones too), besides taking you to sites that have been, in turn, 're-searched' for reliability, customer commitment and ability to deliver. We've tried to cover most areas that people are searching for on the Net.. We've also provided lots of free services like e-cards, headlines, stock quotes, recipes, free PC enhancements, software downloads, resources & interesting sites etc. Having been online for over five years now, while hundreds of sites have come and gone, we have proved the usefulness and durability of a site like ours. Ours is a pioneer effort, and we are flattered that many have tried to copy our concept. In fact we pioneered the concept of the Web Portal, which now giants like Yahoo! have modelled themselves on.
