Description

M4 Systems was formed in July 2000. All four founding members: Carl Ray, Darren Channon, Dave Saunders and Gary Clarke have many years' experience in the implementation and support of Great Plains, (re-branded Microsoft Dynamics GP in 2005), in their roles prior to forming M4 Systems.

Gary Clarke purchased and implemented one of the first Great Plains systems in the UK when he was Finance Director of a medium sized company (250 staff) in 1996.

Even during a severe IT recession (2001 to 2004) the company grew significantly, trebling staff levels and adding prestigious clients, such as The London Stock Exchange, Helphire Group plc and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (over 50 fire stations).

In June 2004 M4 Systems achieved accreditation for Microsoft CRM and shortly after this sold and implemented a CRM system at Manx Telecom, a division of O2.

In September 2004 M4 Systems received Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status (placing the company in the upper echelon of Microsoft partners).

In April 2005 M4 Systems signed a contract to replace a JD Edwards system at South East Water with Great Plains - to include Accounting, Business Intelligence, eProcurement and Document Management. This major win against Oracle, SAP and Axapta demonstrated the scalability of Great Plains and the compelling value in comparison to Tier 1 products. It also clearly demonstrated the ability of M4 Systems to implement and support business critical applications for a major organisation.

In November 2005 M4 Systems opened an off-shore Development Centre in Belgrade, Serbia in order to respond to the needs of its clients for more custom solutions, albeit still utilising underlying Microsoft technologies. M4 Systems now have a sizeable team of English-speaking, highly qualified developers enabling the company to take on very significant .NET development projects. This team works very well collaborating with and complementing our UK support and development teams.

In May 2006 M4 Systems started the project of implementing a 130 user CRM system at CACHE - Council for Awards in Children's Care and Education. The system was configured to match the customer's requirements and went live in August 2006.

In February 2007 M4 - against very stiff competition - won a contract to implement Dynamics CRM and Dynamics GP for the leading Yacht Broker Edmiston and Company into all of their offices including: London, Monte Carlo, Los Angeles and Mexico City.

Additional Information

Dynamics is the new brand name for the Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management Business Applications within the Microsoft Business Solutions Division.

For Microsoft, Dynamics is their next engine of growth, having already been extremely successful with 3 huge divisions: Windows Clients (Client Operating Systems now mature), Office (Personal Productivity now mature) Windows Servers (Business Operating Systems still growing fast). Microsoft believes that their Dynamics (Business Solutions early stages and growing very rapidly) - will grow exponentially over the next few years and also drive growth of their other divisions, especially Servers.

Since Microsoft entered the business solutions space in April 2001 (by acquiring Great Plains - the global mid market leading ERP vendor at that time) they have invested over US$2 billion pa into Business Solutions – over 30% of their total R&D budget, for a division representing less than 2% of their sales.

The fruits of this astonishing investment are now coming to market (over US$20 billion within 2007 Calendar Year)– M4 Systems originally invested in Great Plains skills and continued investing in Microsoft Business Solutions skills, based upon Microsoft’s stated commitment at that time – we are delighted, both as a company and for our customers, that our decision has now been vindicated – the Dynamics products now coming to market have exceeded our optimistic expectations – in our opinion no other software Vendor in the mid-market sector has the resources, to catch up and offer such powerful solutions at such low prices within at least the next 10 years.

Microsoft also introduced a new simplified pricing strategy BRL (Business Ready Licensing) in August 2006 offering outstanding value for money and much more competitive priced compared to Sage, Access, Exchequer and Pegasus, especially for smaller organisations (less than 10 users).
