La Maison Louis Carré est une maison classée monument historique et c'est le seul édifice réalisé en France par l'architecte finlandais Alvar Aalto.
Située sur une colline à Bazoches-sur-Guyonne (Yvelines) elle a été construite en 1959 pour le compte du galeriste et collectionneur Louis Carré et sa femme Olga en tant que maison principale et espace d'exposition.
Alvar Aalto a tout conçu, des aménagements paysagers jusqu'aux poignées de portes.

The Maison Carré, is one of the most important private homes designed by Alvar Aalto. This residence brings work and private life together. The house is classed as an important historic building.
Louis Carré (1897-1977) was a prominent French art dealer and gallery owner whose artists included Leger, Picasso and Kupka. He commissioned the house from Alvar Aalto in 1956, and he moved there with his wife Olga in 1959.
Built on a slope, the Maison Louis Carré is a complete work of art. Many of the details and some of the furniture and light fittings were designed specifically for this building.
