Description
Many years ago, Marcella's Aunt founded the only clothing factory in her native country of Nicaragua. She involved the entire family in the business, including young Marcella, who quickly learned everything she could about fabrics, designs, sewing techniques, and alterations.
At age seven, Marcella made her own first communion dress, a white silk organza with deep ruffles around the neck and hem, puff sleeves, and a large bow with long tails. She felt radiant and beautiful in that dress, and when her mother saw her in it she beamed with pride. From that moment on, Marcella's career path was certain.
Marcella Today
For the past 24 years, Marcella has been revered as an icon in the bridal industry. Twice a year she goes to New York City to attend fashion shows and meet with designers, who listen to her input as they develop the next year's collections.
