Mark Capital Management was formed by Mark Graham and Anthony McGarel Groves in order to provide investment opportunities to sophisticated and institutional investors. They have a combined experience of over 42 years in the equity markets. Their experience of the US markets reaches back to the late 1970s and spans three full cycles, including the recession of 1980 to 1981, the technology boom / bust of 1982 to 1984 and the recession of 1991 to 1992.
The principals have known each other for 34 years and worked closely for 6 years. Peter Bowden has joined them as the Chief Operating Officer. Read their biographies on the People page.
As an independent company we enjoy a high degree of flexibility. The fund adopts a neutral strategy to the market seeking to balance investments in high quality companies with short positions in troubled ones. The sole aim is to increase portfolio value for our clients and we make no attempt to copy an index. We spend the mornings analysing company profiles and then closely track our investments and trade when the US market opens in the afternoon. We are highly risk averse.
