- Hello, thank you for visiting our website. I am Barbara Martin and I was born and raised in South Africa and am an Homeopathic Practitioner. Since before I could walk my passion was for dogs, especially large ones, and taking care of their health. My parents encouraged my love of dogs, and so I can never remember having less than 8 dogs at one time on our property. These were mainly German Shepherds, Great Danes and Boxers. My Uncle Frank, an Homeopathic Practitioner, encouraged my desire and ability to take care of the health and healing of them. Besides this I was employed with the S.P.C.A. for ten years. My children grew up surrounded by Shepherds, Danes, and Rottweilers, plus their own choice of smaller breeds, and I had Dog Boarding and Breeding Kennels for 20 years. I have a Diploma in Animal Technology, a Diploma in Live-Cell Morphology, and a Ph.D in Alternative Medicine, and am the author of several Homeopathic and Natural Healing books. My husband, Bob, pictured above, was a typical American boy, and his life was spent developing his career, but his love has also been for big dogs, particularly the Great Pyrenees and English Mastiff.
