Based in Taylor, MI Masco was organized in the year 1929 as Masco Screw Products Company by Alex Manoogian. It made machining parts for the automotive industry then.

1995: Masco ventures in services business.
1996: Ray Kennedy becomes President and CEO of the company. Alex Manoogian passes away on July 10.
1998: TriMas Corporation merges with MascoTech.
1999: Masco forays into architectural coatings business. Annual sales top $5 billion.
2001: Masco ventures into windows business. Masco’s operating profit crosses $1 billion.
2003: Ray Kennedy, Masco’s President and CEO, passes away on February 4. Masco’s annual sales top $10 billion. On April 8, Alan Barry named as Masco's President and CEO.
2005: Masco pays out $1.3 billion to shareholders through share repurchases and dividends.

CABINETS AND RELATED PRODUCTS

This division contributed approximately $3.28 in sales to the company in 2006. Masco is the largest U.S. manufacturer of kitchen and bath cabinetry, offering choice of approximately 300 styles in more than 20 lines from its subsidirary U.S. companies: KraftMaid, Merillat, Mill’s Pride and Quality Cabinets. European cabinet companies include The Moores Group and Tvilum-Scanbirk. This segment includes assembled and ready-to-assemble kitchen and bath cabinets; home office workstations; entertainment centers; storage products; bookcases; and kitchen utility products.

PLUMBING PRODUCTS

Sales from plumbing division of the company contributed approximately $3.29 billion in the year 2006 further consolidating its position as a world leader in manufacturing plumbing products. This segment includes faucets; plumbing fittings and valves; showerheads and hand showers; bathtubs and shower enclosures; and spas. Leading faucet brands include Bristan, Brizo, Damixa, Delta, Hansgrohe, Mariani, Newport Brass and Peerless. Leading plumbing specialty brands include Alsons, Aqua Glass, BrassCraft, Brasstech, Cobra, Ginger, Gummers, Heritage, Hot Spring, NewTeam and PlumbShop.

DECORATIVE ARCHITECTURAL PRODUCTS

These products contrinuted approximately $1.77 billion in sales in 2006. Decorative Architectural Products include paints and stains; and door, window and other hardware. The subsidiary companies in paints and stains include Behr Process Corporation and Masterchem Industries with top-selling brands Behr, Behr Premium Plus, Casual Colors, Expressions, Kilz and Hammerite. Leading hardware brands include Bath Unlimited, Brainerd, and Liberty in the U.S. and Avocet in Europe. This division also includes Vapor Technologies, which provides coatings technology and manufacturing process equipment for many Masco products.

OTHER SPECIALTY PRODUCTS

Company sales in this division are about $1.26 billion. Their Specialty Products include windows, window frame components and patio doors; electronic locksets; staple gun tackers, staples and other fastening tools; hydronic radiators and heat convectors. Companies which belongs to this division include Arrow Fastener and Milgard Manufacturing in the U.S., and The Brugman Group, Cambrian Windows, Duraflex, Griffin Windows, Premier Manufacturing, Superia Radiatoren and Vasco in Europe.
