Hey there. This is Darrin Koltow, webmaster of MaximumMusician.com and full time jazz guitar student. The rest of this site is filled with info on how to play guitar, but this page has a few tidbits about me.
I think one reason that underlies all of these has to do with something deeper, though. I started making music because I loved to listen to it and sing. And, I thought John Fogerty was the coolest player.
When I tried to play like him, though, it didn't feel right. You know why? Because my brain wanted to make music more complicated than it needs to be. In other words, I needed to feel like I was struggling. Weird, I know.
