Saturday, July 15, 2006 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Once each year, MBARI holds a public Open House. This event features many educational displays about the institute's science and technology research. MBARI personnel, including scientists and engineers, are on hand to share their excitement about the institute's work. Several talks and deep-sea video will be presented in our lecture forum. All three research ships will be at the dock for viewing. Remotely operated vehicles Tiburon and Ventana and autonomous underwater vehicle Dorado will also be displayed. The MBARI Open House is free and open to the public.
MBARI is located in Moss Landing, halfway between Santa Cruz and Monterey off Highway 1. The Duke Energy Power Plant is a visible landmark to Moss Landing. From Highway 1, turn west onto Moss Landing Road. Follow the signs to the harbor and cross the one-lane bridge to Sandholdt Road. MBARI is on the west side of the road. Directions
Limited free public parking is available along the streets. There is also paid public parking at the Moss Landing Harbor District within walking distance.
