- MEGA RAGA has its humble beginnings in south Florida with the son of an immigrant from Barbados and an American citizen. Being his mother’s seventh born he was told that he had healing powers. Years after leaving his mother and father’s household, and living in the Washington, D.C. area he began to get reacquainted to his Caribbean roots, both figuratively and literally. Working long hours he began to drink Sea (Irish) Moss, as a nutritional meal replacement, and supplement. Being curious of it’s nutritional value he began researching, and found that it also had perceived medicinal value. We say perceived because the nutrients that this concoction provide feed the Endocrine system which supply hormones to the organs that make them perform more proficiently, thereby allowing the body to heal itself. Being a baby boomer, potential healer and concerned with health issues of the day, he continued researching. After a few short years studying herbs, including Chinese herbs, a roots tonic was created. It was dubbed MEGA RAGA. MEGA, because of it stature as a potential beverage; RAGA, short for ragamuffin, because of it humble beginnings and sincere intent.
